The Phenomenal results of business mentorship I didnât expect

squadcaster-bba3_1_11-05-2024_114950: What if the best investment that you made in your business was actually in yourself and in your growth as a leader? Welcome back to alive and thriving. If we are brand new, then welcome. My name is Jessica. I am an alternative therapist and holistic business mentor who helps entrepreneurs adjust like you to master their emotions and grow successful, sustainable, and scalable businesses.
Businesses in a way that is deeply nourishing for their nervous system and aligned with their values. And in today's episode, this is one that really comes straight from my heart because we are diving into a topic that is actually really high up on my values, and that is long term relationship, long term mentorship.
I recently re signed with my mentor. I know some of you have, I've had her on the podcast. I have been in Tracy's Mastermind for three [00:01:00] years. I have just re signed for another year of private mentoring and mastermind for my fourth year in a row. Now, this has had me really reflecting on the incredible ripple effects their mentorship has had, not only in my life, but in the lives of so many of the clients that I work with, of my family, of my kids The ripple effect of this mentorship, because it is not only growing my business, but it is also here to grow me as a human, as an entrepreneur, it has had, and as a leader, it has had huge ripple effect.
I'm in my second year of mentorship with my other mentor jazz, who I've also had on this podcast. They are both amazing. I am someone who truly deeply believes in these long term mentorships, which to be honest, as A line 3 experimenter, sometimes it's oh, I could coach hop. I could come [00:02:00] over here.
I could try this shiny new strategy, but then I come back to my what I truly know and what I truly value and there is this depth of relationship that comes. When you have long term mentorship, and here is what I really believe to be true. Okay, when you choose to invest in yourself as a coach, as a healer, as a leader, and then as I choose to, I believe that if you are a coach, a healer anybody who is leading people who is holding space for people to grow in any kind of capacity.
You need to be growing too. I actually don't think it should be a choice. I think it should be really essential. When you choose to invest in yourself as that coach, as that healer, as that leader, you're not just learning strategies. And that is what so many of us look for. And we've spoken about it before and we do, obviously strategy is a huge part of business, but the strategy we're going to be [00:03:00] testing and we're going to be trialing different things.
And we're going to be finding ones that are aligned to our strengths and aligned to our values and aligned to our goals. And our unique energy and our season of life and all of these things, the strategy is interchangeable, but you, my friend, you are the key to your business's success. And so when you choose to invest in yourself, you're stepping into a space that supports your highest evolution.
And it is really, for me, it is about creating something that is sustainable growth that aligns with who you are and who you're becoming. And a really classic example of that is I remember me back in my very first year of mentorship, my second year of this business I have over 17 years of experience in various things.
business and entrepreneurial ventures and things, but in this business, in the online space in particular, very different. And [00:04:00] the traditional marketing strategies that I would have used in regular business didn't really apply. And here's the thing. I remember my very first year, like wishing that I was so far ahead, just so like this energy of desperation.
I just wish that I had. All the clients now, I wish that I had all the money now. But the fact is, that I, first of all, was not an energetic match to hold it. Okay. And second of all, because the more I shed, the more I heal, the more I learn, the more I can hold. And second of all, if somebody had a handed me my mentor's business, it would have collapsed.
I would have collapsed. I wouldn't have known what to do. I wouldn't be ready to hold that size of a team. I wouldn't be ready to hold that size of an income. I'm still working through like my capacity to hold income. That is one of my big money blocks. And if you go back to the episode with Claire Wood, she talks about various money blocks, like you, we hold what we're a [00:05:00] match for.
And so your sustainable growth is going to come with you growing your business in line with you growing so that you can actually hold this. And as we speak of growth. How's that for a segue? I have to really celebrate and I want to really publicly do this celebrate some incredible wins from my mastermind community.
My transcendence mastermind. So we are celebrating the very first year of the transcendence mastermind. And honestly, it has just been the best year. It is such a beautiful container where we just get real about business, like the highs and the lows, all of it. It is such a beautiful space. And when I first launched, so we have 11 women in this space at the moment.
When I first launched the mastermind, I started in November [00:06:00] last year, it was brand new and I started with seven amazing women, seven women who back themselves enough to come into this experience and seven women who backed me as well to come in and hold them as their mentor and as we've now come at the beginning of November into that second year of this mastermind, six of the seven women.
This is a high ticket of our six of the seven women have chosen to re sign for another year. And I truly believe, and I'm hearing back from them as well, that is because they have experienced firsthand just how life changing it can be in terms of the benefits of a deeply committed mentorship of a space where your mentor actually knows you and knows your programs.
And I'm going to talk about this a little bit more when I talk about, Why I'm so passionate about long term mentorship and the experiences that I've had within my own within my own space. [00:07:00] I think about as I celebrate one of my mastermind mentees who launched a brand new program last week, literally just last Friday, she launched it.
She had been speaking to people in her community about it. And this program is completely aligned with her zone of genius. It is something that she had been putting off doing that she had not stepped into because she was scared of being seen and judged by the very people who are now buying her program.
Now, as I record this, it is Tuesday, she launched last Friday, quick, landing page, like just a really aligned copy because she knew them so intimately and knew what they needed so intimately and then selling. Selling in the DMS. Hi, you said that you said that so and so would love this. Like here it is.
It's open. It's ready. So not only when she messaged me on Sunday had four of her six [00:08:00] spots been sold, but all four of them also had taken her upgrade option as well to add private coaching onto the group program. Now. Then there's 2 more as well, actually, who have claimed spots in her other age group program, too.
Okay, so just wanted to really celebrate this, obviously, for the fact that filling a program is amazing, but secondly, because for the last. 12 months that we have worked together, this particular mentee has had a certain idea around how her business should look a certain story around her advertising, a certain story around certain platforms, a certain story about herself.
And she has been working so hard to shift this now for her to, sell this program, she had to be visible by the very people she was scared of being judged by. [00:09:00] And now that fear has actually been worked through now that she is internally feeling like she is that next level version of herself.
She lent into this, she stepped into something that wasn't forceful that was really, truly within her zone of genius and really, truly backed by the years of skills that she has had outside of this business as well. And look at the results, look at the aligned results. So celebrating this launch with her for me is so much bigger because I have witnessed the 12 months.
I just, Oh, my heart. And this is why now stepping into our second year together and being able to support her through the next holy moly. Like I just, my heart is just so full of gratitude. I cannot begin to explain to you what being able to stay on this journey means to me. It really, truly does. So let me tell you about another one of my mastermind [00:10:00] mentees who had been struggling with the idea of doing less to earn more.
She really fears that she's going to work herself into the ground. She's going to keep going until she burns out. And recently she had just been in this low. Now it could have just been, I don't know, just this really like low energy. Like she had been spending a couple of months, but she's I don't feel overly motivated to make money.
Be on Instagram. I've been, she'd been working, obviously, she was just feeling really low and down on herself because she hadn't been showing up on social media the way that she thought she should. And then she was like, I better actually see where my finances are at what is going on?
And she went into that experience. Because she wasn't on social media because she had been exhausted because she had been taking a step back guilt free. Might I add to actually look after herself that she was going to see no growth in her revenue only to realize that she had actually hit 10, then 13, and then [00:11:00] 17, 000 a month whilst doing less whilst looking after herself.
And for me, the first thing I said, besides congratulations was, does this not give you evidence that you can do less and earn more? Ask and you shall receive, right? Now, here is the backstory to this, because I can hold this shiny dangly win in front of you and say, ah, my mentee hit a 17, 000 a month.
But here's what you didn't see for the last 12 months. She has been deeply working on her money identity. She has built a team, not just one employee, multiple employees. She spent months of that year where she was. Still paying herself amazingly, but taking that sort of like, how do you put it like you go through a build phase and then you go through financially growth phases.
And she was in a build phase. She was in a phase where she was bringing in teams, so her [00:12:00] costs went up. And so to see that her revenue has grown and grown. Now, that she has these foundations, like that was her last 12 months. As we step back and we look at the systems that she's put into place and the team that she's built that have allowed her to actually look after herself, those results speak for themselves.
And I just really want to celebrate that. I really, truly do. I have, we've been doing reflections. I spent some time in Slack. That's our communication space. I spent some time in Slack going in to every single one who has stayed on. And sharing with them here was your onboarding. Here is what you came in 12 months ago and said your top 3 priorities here is where you said your blocks were here is where I see your growth.
This is what I've observed and 1 of them, and they've been very emotional conversations. I'm getting a lot of tears back in this space. 1 of them in particular came back [00:13:00] in. And she was like, I'm a whole new excuse my language. I'm a whole new fucking person. She has spent a portion of her time because her business is very new.
This particular client focusing on the fact that she didn't have the level of clients that she wanted and the income that she wanted. But when she actually went back and she looked at her blocks and she looked at it, literally said what is your block? And it's I know nothing about business.
That is not true now. She could not say that is true. She builds landing pages. She creates email sequences. She has launched digital, offerings and created online programs. She can't say that is not true. But outside of that sort of tangible strategy. The way that she thinks about business, about herself, about her journey, about accepting where she is the internal dialogue that she has for herself has completely [00:14:00] changed.
And she said to me, I am the future me that I saw at the very beginning of our time together. I am that woman now. So amazing. Let's keep growing. How good is that? You can see why these experiences that I'm having in my containers. Why part of the reason why I am so passionate about long term mentorship, like it is not just about the external wins.
Because those are beautiful and they are a big part of business. And being in something like a mastermind is a container to celebrate those wins. When I had my first 50, 000 launch, I did not go and tell my family. I did not. I was, and I'm not because I don't even know, like no one was really going to judge me, but they all come with their own stories, but they just wouldn't get it.
I didn't have 50 K sitting in my bank account. There's expenses, there's payment plans but the thing is. Like I had created long term revenue from my business, [00:15:00] which I was. Joked about, but here's the thing. I didn't tell them and celebrate with them. I went and shared that with my mastermind peers, because where else can you come into a space and say, Hey, I'm celebrating a 50, 000 launch.
I'm celebrating a 17, 000 month. Hey, I'm actually here to talk about the fact that I have lost 10, 000 last month and this month. And now I need help to change that. Where else can you go to actually be supported and held around money in that kind of way to come in? I know I've shared a story with you, like around one of my mentees who came in one day and she had what we called a meltdown and I say that with love and it was huge and it was emotional and it was something.
That we all resonated with so deeply, we have people come into hot seats, thinking they don't have a question. And then they hear [00:16:00] something, someone speaking about maybe that they're going through personally, literally 1 hot seat. Was ended up being about relationships because that's just where the impact of everything went to.
And there was like six people on that call that was like, I'm going through something similar. These containers are so precious. They are so, precious. This is about having people in your corner and in this space, like in the mastermind that I facilitate, you've got me, you've got Annalise, who is a business strategy queen, she is the ying to my yang, I am the, more like woo energetic, let's like body led business, and Annalise, she brings like the, this is what you need to hear and this is how it's going to be and she's amazing, obviously still in a very strength led way, because that is, the value of our container.
But she just brings such a wealth of knowledge and her strategy and her ads knowledge and everything is just [00:17:00] phenomenal. So we give it all of that support. Then we've also got Teagan who comes in and helps with the lens of human design. Teagan is a human design expert. She has been in this space for well over seven years.
She is phenomenal at what she does. And she just knows, go, you can go back and listen to the episode with Teagan. Like she just knows. And so the thing is, that like you have us in your corner, but you also have every single mentee in your corner as well. Every single mastermind PI in your corner. Okay, so this is about the safety of being in a container that really supports your personal and your professional evolution.
It really truly is. Now my mentor, has helped me unlock this resilience. Within my world that I never even knew I needed, the amount of times I have had to get myself back up. And I know that there's going to be countless more countless. And the thing is, that I have made [00:18:00] it my mission to pass on that same unweathering support to the women that I work with.
Which is a part of the reason why I'm staying in the space where I am, because when I get to experience that, I don't believe that you can create a mastermind if you haven't experienced one, and there are so many varying levels of what people offer. There really truly are. So when you go to join a container like this, I want you to really think about your core values.
And if it is a mastermind, like a course that is positioned as a mastermind, it's not the same thing. It's not the same thing. If this resonates with you, as I speak about this, like I want you to really, feel into where do I want to be supported and how do I want to be supported? And I would love to extend a special invitation to you.
If you are a coach or a healer or a service based entrepreneur, maybe you've been thinking about what it would be like to be in a [00:19:00] space where you are held in that kind of way, surrounded by women who are rising together. Do you have a mentor who actually gets in and understands your offers, who deeply cares about your inner world and your emotional wellbeing?
And your sustainable success, because that is what I truly believe that I bring to my containers and particularly the mastermind space. So if you feel like you are ready for a high touch container, and you are ready to grow to 5, 000, sorry. 5 figure months or sustain 5 figure months, you're ready to start to bring in other elements into your business, like team, hiring BAs, running Facebook ads, like you're ready for growth.
Then let's chat. If you're curious, let's chat. There is an application form that you can fill in for you to start 2025 in your highest expression and join me and my beautiful [00:20:00] mentees in the Transcendence Mastermind. You can come and you can join us now. If you're ready, you can join us in January. If you want to, but I would really, love to chat to you about what you need right now and how this container can potentially support that.
Now, I want to share a little bit more before I go about my experience with long term mentorship. As I said, I have to stepped into my 4th year in the same container and honestly, there are so many reasons why, but the fact that from year 1 to now. My business is completely different. My ideal client is completely different.
It has been this continual stepping stone growth journey that I have been blessed to have the same mentors holding me through. And the reason why I'm so happy to stay with them [00:21:00] is because they too are continually elevating themselves as well. Okay, because you can outgrow your mentors 100% and so long term mentorship, if you begin to outgrow, that might look different.
I'm not saying you stay with the 1 person forever. I'm not saying I'll stay in the 1 space forever. But when I reflect back on being able to have someone who can. Identify with me, who deeply understands my blind spots, who understands my long term goals, not just for my business, not just, oh, I want to get five people in this program, or I want to make this amount of money each month, not just those, but the goals that are like, I want to feel.
Like this in my life, I want to experience this kind of freedom and lifestyle. I want to have this kind of health and wellbeing. I want this kind of mindset to understand all of those, and then to know you for so long. That they can see that evolution, they [00:22:00] can share that growth with you, but they can also and reflect it back to you, but they can also mirror to you when old patterns are starting to come up.
Literally, like my mentor said to me, maybe a month ago, she was like, this copy is great, but I feel like it's speaking to the version of your business 3 years ago. Yeah, whereas if someone didn't know that it would have been this copy is great, not you're not speaking to the client that you want to attract in now, like having that level of depth is this and now she literally says to me, is this an emotional thing like, or is this an emotional thing or is this like a block or you know what she knows she just knows me so well and to be able to have somebody be able to reflect back to you your inner shit.
And to be able to hold you through that in my very first year, I think I said at the beginning of this episode, like I wanted to be somewhere else and I did not have the energetic capacity to hold that yet [00:23:00] in that very first year too, I lost my best friend. And so I spent months where I was not, and lost, As in she passed away.
I spent months where I was not on my A game, where I was not focused on like showing up to all the calls. And I think like we join a container and it's Oh I better show up to the calls or I didn't get the most out of this. So I didn't do all the portal work. And there's all of these like stories and narratives that go on in our head.
I have really learned to let those go, and I started to think about masterminds more as like a buffet. Take what you need as you need it, because a container that specializes in meeting you where you are at is going to give you a very different experience to say, a course that you invest in, which, by the way, I do too.
I I upskill as well. Something that you upskill in, for example, that has Modules and lessons that you need to meet by [00:24:00] certain times or that you have access to for a certain period of time. Like it's a very different experience. But having a long term container, like a 12 month and then even extending that longer allows you to have time where you are human.
For me, it allows me to have times where I am in an emotional low in my human design. I am emotional authority, but sometimes for me those lows will last a long time and I don't know when I'm going to come out of it. And for me to be like, Oh, I've only got two months to complete this, or I've only got two months worth of support calls left.
I don't want that kind of pressure. My business is long term growth, long term plan, long term. I am not in this now for the short term gratification. I do like short term, I do like wins. Yes, but I'm not in it for the short term, for the long term. What am I trying to say? Short term gratification. My business journey is long term.
[00:25:00] My development journey, my growth journey is long term. And so I love the fact that I can stay in a container with someone who can still hold me and who can still elevate me and expand me. And all of those pressures of life and the story is like, Oh, you didn't make it to a call, you paid X amount of money for this container.
But, what if I went into, in my case, a Facebook group, and I asked one question and then one of my amazing peers came in and gave me absolute gold. And then that question made me 20, 000. Do I care that I missed a call? No. And it's the same in the mastermind that I run. We have a Slack channel. And so you hear people say things and you hear these things all the time.
It's Oh, what if I can't make all the calls? Or one of our mentees in that space is in Italy. She doesn't guilt herself if she does not make it to all of the calls because they are at 3am for her. And I love her commitment. I love that [00:26:00] she does come to some and she looks stunning by the way. She comes at 3am and I'm like, how do you look so good at three o'clock in the morning?
But. The fact is, that she can then come into Slack and she can ask real time questions and she can get coaching support from myself, from Annalise and from Tegan and from our, from her peers as well. And that is invaluable to me. So I just really feel like for me, yeah, I wanted to share with you guys today why I truly value long-term mentorship.
Why I value having a mentor who can hold you through that growth, who gets to see you and, stay on that journey and reflect back to you this phenomenal growth that you have had over this base of years. Why I am so honored myself to be. Holding space for these amazing women for another 12 months, it's just, yeah, [00:27:00] such, such a, I just don't even have words.
Actually, as I say it, there is just so much gratitude in my heart when I think about the containers that I get to spend my time in the people I get to surround myself with and. The energy that I get to then bring into my mentees too. And so if you are listening to this and you are one of those mentees, I love you so, much.
And if you are listening to this and you are thinking that you might like to step into the mastermind space with me, as I said, I am extending an invitation. This is a capped container. I only have five places left to offer. So if you would like to talk about having one of those places and either starting now or starting in January, all you need to do is fill in the application and then we can chat.
Or if you've got questions to start with and come over to my DMS and let's chat about it over in there, and then I'll give you the application form. Either way, it doesn't have to be one than the other. We can do it either [00:28:00] way, but just ask the questions, make a fully informed decision. Thank you so much for spending this time with me.
I have so loved this topic and I'm sure you can hear exactly why long term mentorship is such a core value of mine when it comes to personal healing. When it comes to professional development, do you know, I actually think about, even as I say this. I think about my pattern of choosing, like my, certifications and my deployments and things that I have done.
I didn't choose courses like there are tapping courses that you can do in, I don't know, like 90 days or something, even less. I think I didn't choose those. Actually think about it. I chose mentorship that was like 12 months, the same with the hypnotherapy. I know you can go into hypnotherapy certain certifications and things in seven day intensives.
I chose a 12 month degree. I chose a 12 month diploma. There was very complex trauma focus, many other modalities involved, but I really, I'm just like, I'm really just [00:29:00] unraveling this. I really do value long term mentorship and that, that is really reflective now in my private containers as well. We start those at six months and that is so that again, we work with the woman who is committed to their journey, because it's not my job to pull you over the line.
That's not fun for me. That's not the kind of energy that either of us want. And then, of course, the mastermind is 12 months and embodied entrepreneur, which is my 12 month personal development, mindset, identity, upgrade, it's 12 months too. It's 12 months too. So yes, long term commitment, ladies. If this resonates with you, then please come over and say hello.
If you would like to check out the mastermind, as I said, I will take applications until we fill out five seats. The energy of this group is important to me, so I'm not just accepting anybody. That is also really important. So come over and let's have a chat about whether or not. [00:30:00] That kind of mentorship is right for you.
And for just holding this space, listening today to really allow me to celebrate. These amazing women in my life to express the gratitude that I have for the mentorship that I receive to express the gratitude that I have for the ladies who choose to grow and heal and build these beautiful impact driven businesses in my vicinity, in my space.
And yeah, just really thank you for listening and hearing that today. And I would love to hear from you, do you see benefits of long term mentorship? What has your experience been with coaches, with mentors, with courses? What has your experience been? Come and chat to me about what that looks like and what you've taken from it as well, because I'm sure one bad mentorship as well.
Actually, can I share with you my mentee who didn't [00:31:00] stay? For personal reasons, she said, and I cried, you have restored my faith in coaching. She had awful experience, awful. And spending that 12 months in the mastermind, she said, you have restored my faith in coaching. And I cried All right, thank you so much for joining me today.
I hope you have a phenomenal day wherever you are listening from and I look forward to catching up with you again next week on Alive and Thriving.
